There are 4 types of spinal injuries. Cervical spine injuries are the most fatal impacting the head and neck region. It can affect your ability to fully rotate your neck and cause numbness, tingling, and radiating pain down the arm and hand.

Thoracic spinal cord injuries impact the upper chest, mid-back, and abdominal muscles, and could result in paraplegia.

Lumbar spine injuries impact the hips and legs, which can cause difficulty walking, feelings of numbness and tingling, and radiating pain down your leg. This is commonly known as sciatica.

Sacral spine injuries impact the lower hips and buttocks area, which impact bladder and bowel control. If let untreated, it can cause hemorrhages, edema, and other life-threatening conditions.

Severe spinal cord injuries may require surgery while mild injuries may be corrected with chiropractic care, physical therapy, and/or pain management to reduce swelling, inflammation, and pain.
