PAKISTAN ARMY CHIEF ASIM MUNIR AWARDED SAUDI ARABIA'S HIGHEST CIVILIAN HONOURS| By Ayush Gautam
Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has been awarded Saudi Arabia’s highest civilian honour, the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellence, during an official visit to the Kingdom, according to the Pakistan Army.

The honour was conferred under a Royal Decree issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Saudi authorities said the award recognises Munir’s professionalism, strategic outlook, and efforts to strengthen the longstanding and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud formally presented the medal, stating it was in recognition of Munir’s distinguished role in enhancing bilateral cooperation and advancing Saudi-Pakistani relations.

Field Marshal Munir expressed gratitude to King Salman and the Saudi leadership, describing the honour as a reflection of the enduring bonds between the two nations. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the security, stability, and prosperity of the Kingdom.

During the visit, Munir also held talks with Prince Khalid bin Salman on regional security dynamics, defence and military cooperation, strategic collaboration, and evolving geopolitical challenges, underscoring the deepening defence partnership between Islamabad and Riyadh.
