Joined up with Bran for this 6 hour KGEC race. Initial kart was so-so so came in very early during Q1 and got a better kart. Qualified P2 behind Panthaa who had a top kart. Start went well but it was clear I had to get and stay in front of Panthaa to avoid him running away. After 15 mins we already got to the first backmarkers so had to manage traffic to avoid losing time. Pitted bit early to ensure a good kart for Bran and avoid the typical traffic jam at the first pitstop. Bran did a great stint as well and after my second stint (3 hours into the race) we pretty much lapped everyone including P2. Near the end of the race it started to rain and since we had several pitstops left we gained even more time, finishing almost 2 laps ahead of P2 and 3 laps on P3. Great to finally be at the top of the podium !!!

I must add that the (very) poor condition of many of the karts played in our advantage this time as for instance TKR had to do 3-4 pitstops in succession to finally get a decent kart. But then again good preparation and great strategy is an important part of winning endurance races and this time it all came together for us. We even had margin for a 1 lap penalty which we got for various reaons in every previous attempt of the 4/6 hour races @ Genk.
