The flexible material used for comb making could be transparent or as in this video, a coloured material (which is discontinued, transparent plastic is normally incorporated.)

Artexing - is a 'UK' term for texturing ceilings and walls. 'ARTEX' is popular texturing product/powder/ready-mixed, compound for creating a variety of textures onto a range of interior surfaces.

Each texturing comb tool, no matter the size, when used in accordance within its function, will perform its duty faithfully on many ceilings & walls.

Do not wash comb tools in HOT WATER or they may sprout into something horrendous just as the clock strikes midnight.

Seriously, many comb tools get damaged when they are washed in HOT water

Instead rinse with cold water as soon as you finish each texturing task. Dry and store combs in the same way that they were sent out to you upon purchase. (Applies to more than 1 comb)
