Geodesy - The Science of Earth Measurement

The European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET) project GeoMetre (18SIB01) takes up the demand of the United Nations resolution for a global reference frame better than 1 mm. The Laboratory of Industrial Metrology at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences participates in this joint research project and is one of 16 European partners. Innovations in the development of e.g. high-precision electronic distance measurement systems as well as improved algorithms and novel analysis strategies are the main goals of our joint research, to support the Global Geodetic Observing System (GGOS) and to improve global reference frames such as the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF).
