Known for bringing amazing performers and educational programs to hundreds of thousands of children all over the state, Young Audiences of New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania (YA) is proud to bring back for a second year, their interactive festival that celebrates New Jersey – Arts EdVenture!

This festive outdoor cultural event will celebrate New Jersey’s remarkable history and amazing contributions to INNOVATION, DIVERSITY, AND LIBERTY and will feature curriculum-connected experiences for elementary school students from grades three to six. The festival will take place on June 3rd and 4th at the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton, NJ.

Festival activities will be directly connected to the history of New Jersey and align to the social studies curriculum. The highlight of the festival will be engaging live performances and a colonial village where hands-on art-making is encouraged. Between performances, students will have a chance to dance, sing, and interact with historical figures, played by first person interpreters, and participate in historic arts and crafts activities. Highlights will include New Jersey’s role in the revolutionary war, significant innovators like Thomas Edison and scientists like Albert Einstein, and New Jersey’s rich artistic diversity illustrated by a variety of artists.

Each day, school buses will arrive and teachers and students will be given a custom schedule which outlines when and where the performances they will be attending will take place. Also on their schedule will be time for them to walk around, purchase souvenirs, visit activity stations, interact with reenactors, and have lunch. Buses will come and go throughout the day as each group will spend up to 3 hours at the Festival.
