This video describes a flood frequency analysis using the generalized extreme value distribution (GEV). Data from the Little Southwest Miramichi River (New Brunswick) are used for this example. The R software is used to carry out the analysis, and Excel was used to plot the data and the estimated floods for different recurrence intervals.
