The National Youth Choir of Great Britain put the voice to the last movement of Beethoven's 9th symphony, along with soloists Anna Samuil, Waltraud Meier, Michael König and Roland Pape. The concert takes place as Prom 18 of the 2012 season of the BBC Proms on 27 July 2012, just two hours before the opening of the Olympic Games a few kilometres to the East.

Both the games and Beethoven's 9th are inspired by a humanistic message and faith in a future where all humans will accept each other in order to live together as brothers and sisters. It is an idea that sounds absolutely familiar for us.
