Arnab Goswami ‘The so called nationalist’ risked India’s national security? | The Newshour Debate

On The Newshour Debate today, Navika Kumar takes us through a case which has brought a jolt to many faces and has exposed the so-called ‘nationalists’. The TRP Scam Case took a complete U-Turn after the WhatsApp chats of Republic TV Founder Arnab Goswami and Ex-BARC Chief Partho Dasgupta came to light.
Those chats tell us how Arnab Goswami risked India’s national security by revealing information of abrogation of Article 370, 3 days prior to the government announcement. Not only this, but the leaked WhatsApp chats reveal how former BARC chief Partho Dasgupta allegedly wanted to unleash troll army against Times Now. Reports also suggest how confidential data of the Centre was leaked by Former BARC Chief Partho Dasgupta to Arnab Goswami.
After the stunning revelation, opposition parties and Army Veterans has sought a thorough probe in the matter.
While sharing views over the controversy, Political Analyst Ashutosh stated that ‘The fundamental problem for the TV profession is the ‘race for TRP’ and this needs to end. While, Senior Lawyer, Swapnil Kothari said that Arnab Goswami’s nationalism would be in doubt if he’d have not covered Balakot airstrike’.
