In this Lockdown Lecture to Cork Astronomy Club via Zoom on 14 February 2022, Paul Evans describes some of his experiences observing and photographing solar and lunar eclipses, transits, occultations, and other events.

Paul Evans grew up in England. He is half-Irish and has lived in Northern Ireland since 2003.

He has been interested in Space and Astronomy since the time of Apollo 8 and is also a keen photographer who puts the two hobbies together to take photographs of the night sky. Examples of his work in this field have been exhibited in both the UK and Ireland.

He is a Past President of the Irish Astronomical Association (IAA) and current Chair of the Irish Federation of Astronomical Societies (IFAS).

In his day job he is a broadcast engineer, keeping TV and Radio on the air.
