Understanding the origin of data gives us the context to understand it and build trust in it. Out of the box Oracle Data Integrator does not provide data lineage. Rittman Mead have developed as set of tools to extract metadata from the repository, store it and analyze using a graph database.
This presentation discusses the benefits of data lineage, highlighting how it fosters trust in data and aids the development and test lifecycle. It then walks through how the tool works and concludes with a demo showing the lineage of an ODI repository.
