About the speaker:

Nikolaos Zafranas received his piano diploma cum laude from the "National Conservatory of Athens" (class Domna Evnouchidou), continued his studies at the University of Illinois, USA, (class Ian Hobson), further receiving his diploma cum laude and Master's Degree from the University of Music, Graz, Austria, (class Walter Kamper). An active participant in numerous seminars and special piano courses, he is also the recipient of several distinctions, awards and merit scholarships in Greece and elsewhere. His performances include recitals and chamber music concerts in Greece, Austria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Rumania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain and the USA. He has recorded for the television and radio in Greece, Cyprus and Slovenia and can be heard in solo and chamber music works on 2 CDs. He is a founding member of the formidable "Piandaemonium" ensemble and Lecturer of Music Pedagogy at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
