VIDEO CONTENTS:
[0:00] Introduction
[3:52] Depths of Shade; Pecan Brown & Fawn
Serial dilutions. Starting with 20 mL of 1% stock in each cup (highest DOS 10 mL 1% stock on 20 g yarn titanium fingering)
1.5 cups water volume total, added yarn before acid. added 1 tsp white vinegar to each cup
[6:18] Dyeing the base color (prototype)
Add 30 mL Fawn 1% stock to 1L water.
Add 6 mL of Pecan Brown to 500 mL water
400 g presoaked yarn with no acid. The yarn is pretty wet from the presoak
Used a total 12 mL pecan Brown + ~ 15 mL Fawn on 400 g yarn
+ 3 T white vinegar
Let the yarn sit on the counter for 10 min and the steam set
[14:30] Dyeing more background
[15:32] Mixing acid dyes with citric acid
1/2 tsp citric acid to a spice jar, 1/32 scoop of acid dye
[17:16] Swatching the speckles
Add some more ca to a few of the jars (more pigmented colors)
[19:35] Speckling the yarn
Speckle on 200 g of yarn at a time, speckling dye on - randomly once on one side and then once on the second side. Then steam for 30 minutes
[27:19] Out of the steamer basket
[30:22] Speckling more yarn
[31:51] Washing the yarn
[33:17] The dry yarn
[36:42] Yarn mops
[38:23] Eevee yarn!
