Striped Bass/Cape Cod Canal/July 1st, thru 4th, 2024

Once again it was that time of year to fish the Cape Cod Canal! It was week of the 4th of July and I fished 4 days. The weather was perfect by my standards. A comfortable 75 to 82 with a light breeze except for a windy 4th of July. Nevertheless, the bite was good every day and much better than the last time I fished the canal. I landed one on a top water popper and the rest on the bottom with chunk mackerel. A few were lost along with other bites. Two of the four were keepers. I had a chance to cook one for dinner two hours after I caught it. It doesn't get fresher than that. And it was oh, so tasty!
