Dong Valley is located in the Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh, India ¹ ² ³ ⁴. Here are some important details about Dong Valley ¹ ² ³ ⁵:

- *Location*: The valley is located at the junction of the Lohit River and the Sati stream at an elevation of 1,240 meters above sea level. It is 7 kilometers away from Walong town, between Tilam and Namti villages.

- *Trekking*: Dong Valley is the last village in India where civilians can witness the first rays of the sun. The trek to witness the first sunrise of India is 8 kilometers long.

- *Demographics*: According to the 2011 Census of India, the village had 15 residents across four households. Six were male and nine were female. The local people grow rice and maize and raise pigs and chickens.

- *Tourism*: The valley is extremely beautiful, radiating divine peace. The place is perfect to go to if you want to spend quality time with nature.

- *Transportation*: The closest airport can be found in Dibrugarh, which is 400 kilometers from Dong village. From there, you will have to travel to Tezu by bus or taxi and then the same for your onward journey to Dong. The roads are mostly okay in the region except for when you cross Tezu. From there onwards, you will mostly find broken tarmac, gravel roads or off-road stretches. The journey can be a backbreaker, so make sure you travel in a vehicle with good suspension. From Tezu, you can hire shared Sumo’s that take at least 10 hours to reach Dong.
