Curtis Pond 4K

Curtis Pond in North Calais is actually a bit mislabeled, as it is a dam. It was constructed in 1900 and has faced an uncertain future in the recent past. It's been deemed a "significant hazard" by the state and has structural issues that may let go with another sizable storm. The state has no money to spend on the project and local residents have been managing the situation, which the actual dam is on private property. Fortunately, the town has come together and succeeded in raising $1.2 million dollars and the project will go forward! I will definitely be documenting this area again and during any construction.
