If you have edited XML for 7 Days to Die before, you might have realized that when you update the game, it REMOVES all of your edited XML. This can be prevented easily by putting your edited XML files into modlets! The type of modlet discussed in this video supports edits to XML that are considered ADDITIONS to the current XML, not changes to the current xml. Changes to XML requires a different modlet style.

In this video I review how to create the modlet files, how to put your edited XML into it, how to create a Mod folder both on a local game and a server, and then reviews common errors and testing.

Edit Comment: For those who don't know, be sure to save your files as extensible markup language files (I show in the video images, but don't say this verbally in the video). Hope this helps people who might be confused by anything!

Notepad++ video link: https://notepad-plus-plus.org/ - If you don't see the XML Tools option under the Plugins in Notepad++, simply enable it by clicking Plugin Admin, and check the box that says XML Tools in the available list. Click Install in the top right corner to install the plug in. Restart Notepad++ and you are all set to use the tool.
