GMS v.237 (Ignition) | 23k INT Bishop | Normal Guardian Angel Slime | Reboot

Cleared this solo about a day before the Shining Star Force event during the GMS Ignition Update. Last weekly boss run on this Bishop with 10 Stars equipment and approximately 23k stat without Maple World Goddess’s Blessing. Definitely overgeared for this, and far from a struggle run, thanks to Link Skills, Legion bonuses, and some good potential rolls on most pieces. Currently, Guardian Angel Slime is my most favorite boss encounter in MapleStory, due to the rather fair mechanics, and it rewards players for correctly executing the counterplay.

Some thoughts on approaching this boss fight:
When the Fountain of Vengeance is placed on the second platform from the bottom of the main boss fight area, just like I usually place it in this video, it can hit the boss’s large hitbox when it is located near the Fountain around the bottom 3 platforms.

Alternating between the disjointed platforms is a safe way to entirely negate the one-hit-KO bounce ability casted by the boss, knockdown/super knockback ability, all while maintaining in the “same level” as the boss for better targeting. Those 2 major abilities from the boss are most dangerous when it is casted while you are standing on the same platform with it.

Divine Punishment stacks can be fully unloaded during the stunned window for maximum damage output, as well as pairing with Angelic Buster’s link skill when it is ready again midway through the “gate phase”. To use the AB link skill in the middle of the 3-minute cycle, be sure not to delay it too long, or you may not have it ready for the next stunned window.

With all the power creep happening in Maple recently, Guardian Angel Slime can probably be soloed with lower stats, depending on the class, link skills, and Legion too. As an added personal challenge, I am running without consumable buffs, guild skills, Boss/IED Familiars and with Attack Speed 2. Just a self practice in case GMS may someday decide to follow KMS’s Attack Speed hard cap of 2. Nevertheless, it is a personal achievement for my Hyper Burn Bishop main.
