This is the Panasonic Lumix GH3 VS Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera video test. In terms of the build-in codec. Some of you may wonder its not too fair to do a test. But since they are roughly the same price. So why not have a look which is right video camera for you?

In the video, you can see the sharpness, BMPCC definitely wins. But there are some of the pros and cons you might need to consider before choosing it.

Panasonic GH3 Pros
- No problem doing run and gun shoot
- Long battery life
- Optional battery grip
- Can take stills
- Brighter LCD display (Compare with BMPCC)
- Better Control (Compare with BMPCC)
- Higher ISO

Panasonic GH3 Cons
- H.264 codec (Compare with BMPCC)

BMPCC Pros
- ProRes 422HQ and Cinema DNG Raw

BMPCC Cons
- ISO goes up to 1600
- 2.9x crop (Hard to find wide angle lens)
- Requires fast expensive SD card (64GB only can record roughly 50mins ProRes video)
- Can't format cards
- Super short battery life (Each battery only last 20mins)
- Limited control (Compare with GH3)
- No live view White Balance (Need guessing)
- Poor LCD display (Can't really see during the day time)
