Описание к видео Panel Discussion on the Future of Scandium as a Technology Metal on September 10, 2020

During the past year, we made it our objective to familiarize our investor audience on the importance of scandium as a potentially critical technology metal. We wrote blogs, Q&As and created infographics with our client Imperial Mining (TSX.V: IPG), which helped spark much excitement among many of you. Month after month we watched the interest grow, fuelled by news out of the US, Canada and Western Europe of the development of collaborative agreements to build rare earths and technology metals supply chains that are not reliant on Chinese and Russian market dominance. The news articles had the word ‘scandium’ mentioned more frequently with the metal finally getting the recognition it deserves in the industry. And we’ve even seen mining giants like Rio Tinto come into play.

We want to keep the momentum going and have exciting news to share! On Thursday, September 10 at 2 pm EST CHF was moderating a panel of industry experts to discuss the past, present and future of scandium, its applications, advantages, challenges and opportunities, as well as provide some outlook on the rare earths and technology metals in general.

Our experts are:
John Kaiser, Analyst, Owner of Kaiser Research Online
Gianni Kovacevic, Analyst, Author, Keynote Speaker
Peter Cashin, Founder, President & CEO of Imperial Mining Group Ltd.
Don Bubar, Chairman of Imperial Mining, President & CEO of Avalon Advanced Materials

Question breakdowns:
[01:16] Out of all the technology metals, scandium is probably the least known. Why is that?
[02:54] What makes scandium so special? Should the world be upset that primary, scalable scandium supply at a stable price is not a current reality?
[06:08] What are all the applications that stand to benefit from unlimited supply of scandium?
[09:45] What does it take for end-users to commit to using Al-Sc alloy in their product line?
[15:42] There has been a lot of action in the recent years to promote a shift towards Electric Vehicles. Do you think this will prevail and we will see further growth and wider adoption? If so, what role could scandium play in the EV adoption trajectory?
[18:20] If Sc demand does skyrocket as we imagine, where will the supply come from?
[22:39] IPG has a different style of scandium deposit than the laterite deposits in Australia. Why is the Crater Lake scandium discovery something we should pay attention to now?
[27:06] What is the investor sentiment towards scandium now? Do you see it changing in the near term?
[36:55] How much more production do we need to bring the price of the commodity down?
[37:59] Which form of Sc may be desirable for Al-Sc alloy applications? ScF3 or Sc2O3? Can you give info for the price of ScF3 and Sc2O3?
[39:46] Is the best technology "set" for the conversion of Sc compounds to Al-Sc master alloy, or is this an additional downstream processing step that requires further - investigation/investment?  What about the industrial capacity to do this step, does much exist outside of CN/Russia?
[43:03] We know China is a source at this time, why do we believe that they will not corner the market for scandium like they have done for Rare Earth Elements?
[45:55] Is it possible Imperial can be the next leader in the world with that huge and rich deposit?
