Follow these steps to replace the speaker for HP Pavilion HP EliteBook 840 G6 Healthcare Edition Notebook PC.
Before you begin: Remove the base enclosure and battery.
IMPORTANT: Make careful note of the routing of the speaker and wireless antenna cables for later replacement.
Steps
Disconnect the wireless LAN antenna cables from the wireless LAN module and partially remove the wireless LAN antenna cables from their routing channel on the top cover, until the speaker assembly cable is unobstructed.
Disconnect the wireless WAN antenna cables from the wireless WAN module and partially remove the wireless WAN antenna cables from their routing channel on the top cover, until the speaker assembly cable is unobstructed.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the connector on the system board and remove the speaker cable from the routing channel on the top cover.
Remove the two 2 mm P1 Phillips broad-head screws that secure the speaker assembly to the top cover.
Lift the speaker assembly off of the alignment posts on the top cover and remove.

Place the speaker assembly onto is alignment posts on the top cover.
Replace the two 2 mm P1 Phillips broad-head screws that secure the speaker assembly to the top cover.
Route the speaker cable through its routing channel on the top cover.
Reconnect the speaker cable to its connector on the system board.
Route the wireless WAN antenna cables through their routing channel on the top cover and over the speaker assembly cable, and connect the wireless WAN antenna cables to the wireless WAN module.
Route the wireless LAN antenna cables through their routing channel on the top cover and over the speaker assembly cable, and connect the wireless LAN antenna cables to the wireless LAN module.
