American tech firm Three Square Market is causing quite a stir as it is vying to become the first company in the U.S. to microchip employees.
The Wisconsin-based firm is offering to implant a tiny radio-frequency identification, or RFID, chip into workers' hands for free so they can just swipe it to open doors, log onto their computers and purchase snacks.
Three Square Market says about 50 employees have volunteered to get chipped beginning next month, but others are apprehensive as they feel the firm could use the chip to get too close for comfort.
However, the firm has reassured that the chip has no GPS tracking ability and is practically the same as the chip in your credit card.
