Описание к видео A Telephone Call - A Short Film, Poetry by Javed Akhtar, inspired by a work of Dorothy Parker

’A Telephone Call’ is the story of self-realization of a girl and knowing the meaning of true independence, inspired by a short story with the same name by Dorothy Parker. The poetry by Shri. Javed Akhtar from his acclaimed literary marvel Tarkash is one of the higlights of this movie conceived and shot in Singapore and released on August 15th, Indian Independence Day.
This film captures the internal turmoil, the various emotions that she goes through, the anxiety, the pain, the hatred, possessiveness in all true their colors.
This story is the story of different versions of ourselves co-existing within us and the version we chose to pickup and face our lives.
A telephone call is symbolic of the things we run after, the delusions we nurture and ultimately lose ourselves.
As the saying goes, ‘you are not independent if you do not know who you are’, the film resonates this sentiment, which is true independence.

Running time – approx. 12 minutes.
