right after loading from the grace point there is a rot geiser its easiest to dodge it from immediately sprint jumping after loading from a spawn/fast travel because delayed a little bit and the geizer can hit you. Jump backwards after spawning from grace (you move quicker through the rot river backstepping) backstep until you reach the little plaform and wait like i did a tiny bit for the rot to lower down if you are close to rotting at that point
Thats how to avoid the rot completely like i did, during the fight i had best performace spamming a bleed ash of war like bloody slash and cleaning up with glintstone pebble or rock sling

dont roll through the rot make sure to backstep. rolling through rot lets the rot affect you longer as it actually lingers to your armor from rolling but backstepping doesnt cause that and gets through the rot quicker
