A Get Real India investigation reveals a distressing incident from the tribal heartland of Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, where nearly 180 women were denied basic care during a routine sterilisation camp. At a community health centre in Bagh, women were reportedly forced to lie on the ground under the open sky following surgery, with no access to drinking water or proper seating. An unidentified official admitted to a massive protocol breach, stating, 'According to the protocol, we were supposed to perform 30 nasbandhi operations in one camp. But we performed 173 women's nasbandhi operations.' Concerns were also raised regarding safety as a single doctor reportedly performed all surgeries, allegedly completing each in just two minutes. While one officer has been removed and notices issued to others, the incident highlights severe lapses in pre- and post-operative care norms. The report questions the state of healthcare infrastructure and accountability in India's remote regions as families were left to fan recovering patients with cloth in the heat.
