Dubai authorities have constrained the movements of Saurabh Chandrakar, a promoter of the Mahadev online betting app, following requests from Indian agencies. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal for alleged money laundering and their role as masterminds of a betting syndicate. Ravi Uppal was recently detained in Dubai, and properties worth Rs 100 crore owned by both promoters in Dubai have been identified for attachment. Extradition proceedings are underway, with a red corner notice issued via Interpol. The ED alleges that the Mahadev group promoters amassed Rs 5,000 crore through illegal activities, involving celebrities in their promotions.
