'The Merry Adventures of Harshabardhan and Gobardhan' by Shibram Chakraborty contains a series of stories featuring the two brothers: Harshabardhan and Gobardhan. They were born in Assam and had travelled to Calcutta to start a timber business. Though rich, they are very foolish and often form their own humorous conclusions to very serious subjects. This humour is accelerated by Shibram Chakraborty's use of pun. His ability to twist words and form meanings of his own is greatly appreciated today. He started a whole new way of story-telling through wordplays and puns. His stories are mostly about eccentric people in absurd situations and brim over with fun.
