Why I Unexpectedly Left My 6-Figure Google Job To Work For A Church.

When I was trying to decide whether or not to leave my job at Google, I remember going through SO many ups and downs, questions, doubts, internal conflicts... let's just say: the golden handcuffs are REAL, y'all.

There's so much you feel like is at stake: the risks, unknowns, all the potential possibilities and scenarios - needless to say, it often can be overwhelming and really isn't just about "a job" but so many more factors that contribute to it.

And as a Christian, you add another added and significant layer of wanting to live by faith... but also not confusing faith with foolishness. What is wisdom and good stewardship, versus unhealthy self-reliance and false justification? What is faith and surrender, versus reckless decision-making?

I STILL get asked about my process of making this decision of leaving my comfortable tech job at Google to go work in full-time vocational ministry at a church - and how it all played out (even though it's been several years). So I decided to record the FULL story and share it with whoever else out there might be trying to get more clarity regarding a career transition, whether or not to leave their job, what questions to ask yourself, and more.

I'm so thankful that I can now look back in hindsight with even more clarity on my decision-making process - including the lessons and wisdom I wish I could tell my past self. I pray it helps you if you're going through something similar!
