Getting MORE CREATIVE with Colored Pencil Portraits

In this video I want to show you how I get more creative with my colored pencil portraits by using a lot of vibrant colors in a very intuitive way. Portraits don't have to be realistic all the time following the reference one by one. You can make your own creative artistic choices embracing the possibilities with colored pencils.

I talk about using a reference for realistic proportions but at the same time wandering off and exploring original elements to incorporate in your artwork. When using colored pencils you can intentionally push it to the limit with vibrancy by choosing all kinds of colors and combining them. For this piece I "go with the flow" and intuively have fun with blending the colors in different areas of the face. As long as you still keep important values in mind it will look right in the end.
