Kaylen, Kelsey, Kristen and the K3 Sisters Band sponsored the Totality Dallas Festival at Samuell Farm as a “Friend of the Farm.” The 3 day total eclipse festival occurred on April 6-8, 2024, and culminated on Monday when from 1:40-1:44pm the moon totally obscured the sun to the amazement of thousands of attendees. Some screamed, some cried and some sat in silence and awe as this once-in-a-lifetime experience enveloped everyone.
If you look closely you will see several key moments including:
1. The appearance of Venus and Jupiter in the lower right and upper left of the sun respectively.
2. A 360 degree “sunset.”
3. A confused bird flying across the screen.
4. The sun’s million degrees corona flaring beyond its circumference which is rarely seen except during eclipses due to the brightness of the sun.
5. If you pause the video you can see at least two eruptions of solar material with a reddish glow.
6. At the conclusion of “totality” when the sun’s first rays burst beyond the moon you can see a star of light.
7. Shadow bands of thin, wavy lines of alternating light and dark moving around the sun.
The band was able to give away hundreds of free CD’s of their Apple of My Eye album to eclipse watchers who traveled to Dallas from many distant states to experience totality.

The girls had filmed portions of their Break Out music video from their album Jet Black Hearts at Samuell Farm several weeks before the Totality Dallas Festival. When the Dallas Park and Recreation Department leaders heard about the video they wanted to watch the “eclipse-like” portions caught on camera as well as hear the song. The city leaders were so amazed and excited that they arranged for the Break Out video as well as the K3 Sisters Harry Potter Rap and Once Piece Rap to be shown to festival attendees on the lawn on a pretty big outdoor screen which is also seen in this video.
