Restoration Process of Old Rusted Pocket Knife. New series of restoration videos for old rusted restoration process videos. #restorationvideo #restoration #restorationcleaning
This is not a famous popular pocket knife brand but it is valuable to be and I decided to restore this knockoff fake sak pocket knife to be nice and shiny again.

This old pocket knife was sitting at the back of the car going to the beach many years so it was not only rusted but full of sand and salt water drying forming into salt crystals on the stainless steel.metal.

I was able to get it in really usable shape with rust removed by doing the restoration process you see in the video.

Once ready and oiled, you can sharpen the blades with your favorite knife sharpener.

The hardest part was to dissolve the mineral and salt deposits so that the pocket knife tools can move.
Before, most of the tools were stuck from the rust and salt mixed with sand.

I decided not to put back the original scales as I wouldn't need to light and I don't like to have a button cell battery around like that. The button cell batteries are dangerous if eaten so I threw the battery away.

The compass can be carried on a keychain.

Thinking to make scales for it made of olive wood. That would be an interesting project to do.
