Once upon a time, in a bustling little town, there lived a tailor who was as clever as he was small. One sunny morning, while stitching a new coat, he prepared a delicious jam sandwich to enjoy later. As he worked, seven pesky flies flew in and began buzzing around, trying to land on his sandwich.
“Oh, you cheeky little things!” the tailor exclaimed, grabbing a cloth. With a swift swat, he managed to squash all seven in a single blow. Feeling proud of his victory, he decided to make a belt that read, “Seven at one blow.” He wanted everyone to know about his remarkable achievement.
Determined to share his tale of bravery, the little tailor set off on a journey across the land. As he walked, he whistled a cheerful tune, making his way through a dense, dark forest. There, he met a towering giant who looked at him with curiosity.
“What does ‘Seven at one blow’ mean?” the giant asked, puzzled.
“Oh, that?” the tailor said casually, “I defeated seven with one swat of my hand.”
The giant, thinking the tailor meant seven men, was impressed. Wanting to test the tailor’s strength, he squeezed a rock until water dripped out. The little tailor, quick on his feet, grabbed a piece of cheese from his pocket, squeezed it until the liquid ran out, and proudly showed the giant.
The giant, not to be outdone, threw a stone high into the air, challenging the tailor to do the same. The little tailor, clever as ever, released a bird he had caught, which flew high and far, out of sight.
Seeing this, the giant was even more impressed. “You are indeed strong and clever,” he grumbled.
Soon, the tailor arrived at a magnificent castle where the king ruled. The king, hearing of the tailor’s supposed feats, wanted to rid his kingdom of the dangerous giants. He promised the tailor his daughter’s hand in marriage and half his kingdom if he could defeat the giants terrorizing the land.
With a sparkle in his eye, the brave little tailor accepted the challenge. Armed with nothing but his wits, he set off to the giants’ lair. When he found them, he waited until they were fast asleep and then climbed a tree. He threw rocks at them, causing them to wake and quarrel with each other, thinking the other was attacking. In their fury, the giants defeated each other.
Returning to the castle, the tailor was celebrated as a hero. The king, however, was still skeptical and decided to give the tailor more tasks. But with each challenge, whether it was catching a unicorn or capturing a wild boar, the clever little tailor used his quick thinking and trickery to succeed.
In the end, the king had no choice but to honor his promise. The tailor married the princess and became a prince, ruling with fairness and wit. And thus, the brave little tailor, who started his journey with nothing more than a cloth and a bit of cheese, lived happily ever after, always ready for his next adventure.
