There is much folklore in Appalachia about how to predict the coming winter's weather. One of these uses persimmon seeds. The inside of the seed will show an image of either a knife, spoon, or fork with each providing its own prediction of how bad the winter weather will be. I've seen people do this my whole life, but never actually cut a persimmon seed myself... until now. The results were interesting, to say the least. (Looks like I messed the ending up, but you get the picture. LOL)
