NSW Fire & Rescue crews are being recommended for bravery awards after a major response in Eastlakes on the 19th August 2016.

A fuel tanker overturned causing a fuel rupture of unleaded and diesel petrol.

Fire crews from Mascot airport also assisted with laying down large blankets of suppressing foam.

The cleanup operation continued for over 8 hours.

No one was seriously injured, however two motorists caused a major scare after they drove past a road block and into the fuel.
