South Africa’s new Firearms Amendment Bill is not about fighting crime. It is about disarming ordinary citizens, banning firearms for self-defense, crippling sport shooting, destroying hunting, shutting down private security capacity and stripping you of the right to protect your family.

This bill removes self-defense as a reason to own a firearm, imposes extreme limits on sport shooters and hunters, criminalises ammunition reloading, attacks private security capabilities and changes the purpose of gun legislation to protect public order instead of protecting life.

Government knows police response times are measured in hours. They know violent criminals are heavily armed. They know illegal guns are flooding the country through corruption and state stockpiles that cannot even be tracked. Instead of fixing policing, fixing the courts, fixing crime intelligence or arresting criminals, they want to criminalise law-abiding citizens who are willing to defend themselves. A state that cannot protect you is trying to stop you from protecting yourself.

This is not gun control. This is civilian disarmament. A defenceless nation is easier to control. Don’t just watch this. Join the fight or lose your right to survive.
