Tricolor Pulao Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup Basmati Rice
1 cup Green Peas
1/2 cup Carrots (julienned)
1/2 cup French Beans (julienned)
1/2 cup Onions (sliced)
2 cloves Garlic (minced)
1 inch Ginger (minced)
1 Green Chilli (chopped)
2 tablespoons Ghee or Oil
1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
2 cups Water
Salt, to taste
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
1/4 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
1/4 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
2 tablespoons chopped Coriander Leaves
Instructions:
Rinse the rice in water for 2-3 times and soak for 30 minutes.
Heat ghee or oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and wait till they crackle.
Add onions, ginger and garlic and sauté till golden brown.
Add green chilli and sauté for a minute.
Add green peas, carrots, french beans and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Drain the rice and add it to the pan. Stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
Add water, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder.
Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low.
Cover the pan with a tight lid and cook for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
Remove from heat and fluff the rice with a fork.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
