The mallet is approximately 3" x 5".

In this video, I show you how I made a simple wood mallet. All of the wood used was reclaimed from an old piece of furniture (a futon I think).

Tools used:
table saw
miter saw
disc sander
drill press

During the assembly, I used finishing nails (with the heads cut off) to align the pieces. I used a square to verify that the handle is at 90 degrees to the head of the mallet. I used the original Tite Bond wood glue.

The end of the handle was sanded square using the disc sander. The rest of the sanding was done manually using 80 grit sand paper glued to a flat piece of MDF.

This was a quick and fun little project to do. I finished the piece using Danish oil.
