Welcome to the 3-D Gait Lab at Deakin University.
We are a world class gait laboratory that provides 3-dimensional walking and running biomechanical assessment for active people. This assessment can help you and your treating practitioner better understand the relationship between your movement and your performance or injury.
Our assessment begins with reflective markers placed on key anatomical sites on your body. An accurate and reliable musculoskeletal model of your body is then constructed which will track your every movement in 3 dimensions while walking or running in real time.
The strength of our assessment lies with the state of the art technology. We are the only research laboratory in Australia to partner with the developers of 3DGait, enabling us to directly compare your movement to the world’s largest database of 3-dimensional biomechanical walking and running data.
Real time video feedback of your movement is also available.
We instantly generate reports that detail your movement and makes comparisons between each side of your body
Key variables on each side of your body are then compared to the normative database to determine individual movement patterns or a combinations or movement patterns that may be related to your problem.
