If We Believe (1996 version) Marty Bell

This version of my composition (If we believe) was first recorded in Cairns 1996 and produced by Harry Slee and myself at Sound barrier Studios. We set out to record an EP which was roadhouse of no return. The 4 songs we originally recorded were 1- I'll live in this country. 2- If we believe. 3 Never throw it away. 4 - Roadhouse of no return. Unfortunately, we had a major setback after the recordings were sent to Sydney to the mastering studio which found three of the songs out of phase and not able to master. Anyway, cut a long drama short we were offered to go back into the studio and record the 3 songs again from scratch. However, I decided I wanted to record some new tunes I had just wrote instead which was now to me a really dumb idea because the other two songs I scaped were (Never Throw it away) and (If we believe) the best two songs I have probably ever written. So here is the lost version of (IF WE BELIEVE) that has never seen the light of day until now. Bernie Flynn electric guitar, with a blistering lead break unmatched in any later versions was perfect. Brian Pitcher- Drums was so solid and always a privilege to play with. Brad Wallace- Bass always a perfectionist. Matt Jones- Key boards, always on the ball and very in the pocket. And I played acoustic guitar harmonica lead vocal. And last but not least Paul TUB Taylor on backing vocals who is a very old buddy of mine from Sydney since about 1976 and played in a duo with me at wine bar in Glebe Sydney on occasion. Composed by Marty Bell
