Around 10 cadets are medically boarded out of NDA every year due to injuries suffered during training. At the age of 20, Ex-Cadet Shubham Gupta suffered an injury during his NDA training which left him paralysed from the neck below. His request for something as basic as a motorized wheel chair is being denied as he was told he did not qualify as an Ex-Serviceman. Barkha Dutt in conversation with ex-NDA cadet Shubham Gupta understands why after injuries during training cadets are denied of their basic rights as well.
