Kowloon Walled City 1980 English documentary (Subtitles)

A film by Christian Cascio and Marc Boulet, quite a fascinating documentary, not many had the opportunity of entering the Walled City and videotaping its insides, so it's rare footage of a place that's now long gone.

Navigating through the dark narrow streets we get a good view of the inside of the city, the cameraman visits the places where families are living and also a brothel, being led by a Triad chief, also a brief visit to Jackie Pullinger and her center, and also an estate agent in the city. The video is in English and has subtitles too.

It’s hard to exactly say why but this one of my favourite films on the Walled City, it gets deep inside and shows us lives of the families and then the darker side with the brothels and Triads, it really gives the viewer a good feel of the vibe in the city, with the factory sounds in the background and then radio music playing, just to remind you ordinary family life exists there.
