White back plant hopper (Sogatella furcifera), brown back plant hoppers and brown plant hopper (Nilaparvata lugens) have become regular pests of basmati rice. Their attack has been reported more severe in the core area of organic rice zone where crop is raised through the luxury consumption of irrigation water. Its attack is not so severe in the non-traditional 1121 basmati rice areas of central to southern Punjab. In this video, out of hundreds, we have suggested few of the most effective insecticides like Ulala 50 DF (Flunicamid) ICI-Pakistan @60 ml, Feiniao 80 WG Pymetrozine +nitenpyram Jaffar Agros @100-120 g and some others insecticides to be sprayed thoroughly twice after pest scouting. Their 1st spray has been advised during booting and 2nd at hard milky stage to avoid plant hopper losses. Basmati rice price will be paid off if tela is controlled effectively.
