The latest crime stats show more women and children are killed in our country. Rape increased by 9%, and sexual assault by 4% higher. Sexual offences are up by a staggering 45%. Domestic violence was dubbed feeders for rape and sexual assault by Minister Bhakti Cele. Some survivors manage to make it into a shelter when they realise they need protection, help and support, still many more suffered grievous bodily harm or attempted murder.
