Panic held their first ever Playdate Update presentation this week, diving deep into Season 1 games and a cool stereo dock for their throwback handheld.

They announced that Pre-Orders will start in July via their site (play.date), with a week's notice. It will be priced at $179 (announced last week), and coming later in 2021. Stock will not be limited, as they will produce to pre-order numbers. Keep informed via Twitter (@playdate).

The new Playdate Stereo Dock was revealed - a magnetic dock that acts as a charger, bluetooth stereo speaker, music player and pen holder. Music playback will happen via the Poolsuite FM app, with a curated soundtrack. It will also come with a Playdate ballpoint pen.

They also showed off some of the Season 1 games, diving deeper into a handful. There will be 2 games per week for 12 weeks of Season 1, delivered automatically via WiFi. Season 1 includes titles from Keita Takahashi (Katamari, Wattam) and Bennett Foddy (QWOP, Getting Over It). Lucas Pope (Papers Please, Return of the Obra Din) also showed off his work-in-progress game - Mars After Midnight.

Lastly - they gave us a look at Pulp - their free browser-based game maker tool
