The Biden administration is demanding that Israel permit the U.S. to open a Consulate in Jerusalem – in addition to the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem – that would exclusively serve the Palestinian-Arabs. The implications of this – were the Israeli government to accede – are potentially tragic for Israel and the Jewish People: It could mean recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of the nation of “Palestine,’ were the U.S. to convey recognition of a Palestinian-Arab state; it could mean that Jerusalem would once again be divided; and it could mean that under Palestinian Authority control and potentially Hamas control, that Jews would not be able to visit the Temple Mount, the Western Wall, the Mt. of Olives and other locations that are central to the Jewish People. Participants are: Morton Klein, ZOA’s National President; International law expert Professor Eugene Kontorovich; and Dan Illouz, a former Jerusalem City Council member who serves now as ZOA’s representative in Israel.
