Dave Tice is an English born Australian singer, songwriter and guitarist who fronted several hard rock bands during his career. As a teenager during the 60’s Dave joined the Brisbane bands The Odd Colours and Strange Brew. In 1968 he cofounded the band Head with bass player Peter Wells and after a move to Sydney in 1970 the band changed its name to Buffalo. From 1971 to 1977 the band released 5 albums worth of material. A couple of albums would be banned by some outlets due to the “obscene” cover art. But I’m sure this only served to stoke the fire under the fans and helped aid in the promotion of the band. Buffalo had a loyal following and toured with heavyweights like Black Sabbath, Slade and Status Quo. After returning to England in the late 70’s Dave would front The Count Bishops, an R&B/proto-punk band. Moving back to Australia in 1984, Mr. Tice has toured and played live gigs around the country, including with his own band and with Buffalo Revisited.
