Walking the Bazurto Market in Cartagena Colombia - Gringo Colombia Travel 2023

In this video I am taking you to Bazurto market. One of the longest standing markets in the Cartagena area. It is raw, very active, not a common place for tourists to visit but it is said to represent the old traditions and culture of the residents of Cartagena.

According to one of my friends in Cartagena, and this is translated from Spanish

“The Bazurto market has become very popular for its traditional and popular foods, which are responsible for attracting so many people, both native and foreign.

It is a place in the city of Cartagena where we find all kinds of businesses, clothing stores, shoe stores, hairdressers, restaurants, grocery stores, drug stores... with the lowest prices.

It is the place most visited by adults, those we commonly call grandparents, they are the ones who continue to govern this culture, where buying in the Bazurto market moves them to youth”

Among its traditional dishes we find:
Seafood rice, Fried fish, Rice with coconut, Yucca, Petacones, Salmagundi, Seafood casserole and typical dishes of the Caribbean coast -- Banana in temptation...
