The purpose of the CFR strategy is to open cranial correction and promote movement in the cranial system - primarily targeting the sphenoid bone, with the aim of facilitating normal cranial respiratory movements and normal cranial function. This procedure is performed by inserting small balloons into the nose (especially the nasal pharynx) that has rapidly matured to connect the facial bones with the cranium. It’s a very quick process and it sounds like a feeling of jumping into a swimming pool and having water rise up your nose - it’s not exactly painful, but it’s not a very comfortable feeling - but it’s fast! The whole procedure takes about 2 to 3 seconds, and is done in a series of 4 days of treatment over a 7-10 day period.
