Batman and Robin Directed by Tim Burton Trailer

This is my vision of how the film Batman and Robin would have been if Tim Burton had been allowed to direct it in his signature style instead of Joel Schumacher. I tried to use footage that matched Burton's old films as well as recast the characters using either Burton's Original choices, or other actor considered, but not used, for the roles.


I thought I should explain a few of my casting choices. Unlike my Batman Forever Trailers, I didn't have a clear list of alternate actors, so I had to do a little extra digging.

Marlon Wayans was Tim Burton's choice to play Robin and he allegedly had a play-on-pay contract to star in a Batman sequel. I'm not sure if Burton ever intended to have Marlon suit up as the boywonder- I think he was once intended to simply cameo as Grayson in Batman Returns- but as the film is called Batman Robin, I feel Grayson should star as Batman's partner.

Patrick Stewart was considered by the studio for the role of Freeze (along with Anthony Hopkins) before Schumacher came up with his own personal; interpretation of Freeze. Stewart was a pleasure to edit, and surprisingly the easiest character to recreate.

I went through quite as few rumoured choices for Poison Ivy before settling on Nichole Kidman. I was reluctant to reuse the actress of Schumacher's Merdian Chase. But, seeing as I had replaced Kidman with Rena Russo in my Batman Forever Trailers, I decided to give her a go. Turns out that Kidman had been considered for the role of both Catwoman in Batman Returns and Poison Ivy in an early draft of Batman Forever.
