So, picture this: my usually cheerful and energetic horse, [Horse's Name - e.g., Sprinkles], started acting... off. 😥 I noticed a slight hesitation when walking, and then came the smell. Oh, the SMELL! 🤢 It was that unmistakable, awful odor of infection. My heart sank. I immediately started examining his hooves, and that's when I saw it – a dark, oozy spot that looked like the start of a serious hoof abscess, or even worse, a deep ulceration. Panic mode officially kicked in! 🚨 We tried to keep him as comfortable as possible while I frantically researched and called my vet, who thankfully was able to give me some immediate advice over the phone.
